The four are among the latest 25 names to be added to this year’s star-studded panel, joining Norman Foster, Paola Antonelli, Joyce Wang and Michael Anastassiades, who were announced as judges last week.
Standard entry for Dezeen Awards 2020 closes on 2 June, with discounted entry fees available until 31 March.
Receiving over 4,500 entries last year, Dezeen Awards has quickly become the benchmark for international design excellence and the ultimate accolade for architects and designers around the world.
Zaha Hadid Architects principal Patrik Schumacher and Dezeen contributor Michelle Ogundehin will judge the architecture categories alongside Architectural Association director Eva Franch i Gilabert and Mexican architect Fernanda Canales.
Poet, spoken word artist and BBC radio presenter LionHeart will also be judging architecture projects with Chinese architect Sun Dayong and Diller Scofidio + Renfro partner Charles Renfro. They will be joined by Italian curator and critic Beatrice Leanza and WOW Architects design director Maria Warner Wong.
Yabu Pushelberg founders George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, and New York architect Rafael de Cárdenas, will judge the interior design categories alongside Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. They will be joined by Alex Mok, co-founder of Linehouse, which was named emerging interior designer of the year at Dezeen Awards 2019.
Isabelle Sun and Tim Kwan, founders of Dezeen Awards-winning studio Office AIO, will also look at interior design entries with Chinese architect Lyla Wu, Italian journalist Valentina Ciuffi and Ukrainian designer Victoriya Yakusha.
Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout and Rhode Island School of Design president Rosanne Somerson will be scoring design projects based on the three Dezeen Awards criteria – beautiful, innovative and beneficial – alongside Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg.
Brazilian designer Humberto Campana will also judge design categories alongside Specific Generic founder Andreas Bozrath Fornell and Pentagram partner Eddie Opara. South African textile designer Sindiso Khumalo is the last of the design judges to be announced today.
We’ll be announcing the final set of 2020 judges to complete the panel of 75 industry-leading professionals soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
