Ahead of the Elizabeth Line’s opening on 24 May, Dezeen was given an exclusive tour of one of its stations by the subterranean railway’s head of architecture Julian Robinson.

Described by Robinson as “more mannered” than its Jubilee line predecessor, the subterranean train line, also known as Crossrail, will eventually run 118 kilometres across the south of England.
