Background. July-August 2018, “Xinglong Lake Bookstore Architectural Creative Design Competition” started to be open to the public entries. It was sponsored by Chengdu Tianfu New Area Investment Group Co., Ltd. with China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and co-sponsored by Chengdu Yi Zhu Yi Shi Culture Communication Co., Ltd. There were 486 applications received. MUDA-Architects emerged as the winner of the competition among 20 finalists out of 249 candidates with design proposals.

One of the most iconic and lively shopping destinations in Istanbul, the tree-lined avenue attracts visitors from all over the world and is likened to Paris’ Champs-Élysées. The standalone building is set back from the busy shopping street, creating a generous tree-lined square – a public plaza for the celebration of urban life.

Café Camaleon / MVRDV + GRAS Arquitectos

Casa Camper Berlin opened in 2009, situated in Berlin Mitte, close to a vibrant shopping area. Alongside the hotel lobby, the ground floor of the building originally included a separate commercial space. Camper approached MVRDV and GRAS Arquitectos to design a new concept for a lobby, retail showcase for Camper shoes, and restaurant that would better align with the brand’s strong design reputation.

Endless Bookstore / Architectural Bureau A2M

The renovation of the bookstore in the Jewish Museum in Moscow introduces new bookshelves and an elegant copper counter into the brick constructivist space originally designed by Russian avant-garde architect Konstantin Melnikov in 1926. The new bookstore is capable of displaying more than 2000 book titles and various kinds of souvenirs and providing storage for 8000 books.

Tangshan Mine Bookstore of Librairie Avant-grade is located within the Tangshan Mine Park in Nanjing. Tangshan Mine Park is an important model of double repair in Nanjing and even domestic cities in recent years. It was once the location of Longquan Quarry, the largest abandoned mine in Tangshan. After the overall ecological restoration and landscape reconstruction, it has been reborn as an open theme park integrating viewing experience and recreation.

Rope Shop Ujezd / JRA Jarousek.Rochova.Architekti

Rope shop is located on the ground floor of an apartment building from the 19th century in the center of Prague in Mala Strana. In the past, there were made many adaptations and adjustments, but none of them had its quality. Spaces were divided into three parts and the full height of each room was interrupted by a full inserted floor. Shops were confined, neglected, and confusing.
