Architect’s Association of Santa Fe / Estudio Bechis Arquitectos

January 15, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

In a historically particular and topographically atypical block of Rosario city, we foreground the views of the surroundings, the vegetation of the Belgrano Av. and the boundary historic buildings. The main objective of our project is to formally synthesize the dialogue between them and generate relationships that overcome the limits of the lot. We propose a clear contrast between the new and the old.

Kentaro Yamada Apartment / Bernardo Amaral Arquitectura e Urbanismo

January 14, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

This nineteenth-century townhouse placed in Porto’s historical center was recently transformed by a real estate developer into a collective housing building with 8 apartments (studios, one and two-bedroom apartments). Having kept the existing central staircase and its lightwell, each apartment has one sole front, either facing the street or the backyard. The refurbishment project focuses on one of these apartments, located on the penultimate floor and facing South. Despite its narrow lot and irregular shape, we tried to re-organize the interior space taking advantage of it’s potential for a two-bedroom apartment.

Second Home London Fields / Estudio Cano Lasso Arquitectos

January 14, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

Second Home London Fields is located in East London, on Hackney’s neighborhood, nowadays, one of the most popular ones of the city. The old working-class neighborhood of East End, grey and marginal, has transformed its image, becoming an alternative point for multiple trends, thanks to the hosting of young middle-class designers and artists who couldn’t afford the extremely expensive rentals of the city center. Second Home’s arrival to Hackney with its diversified co-working program, its free provision of event spaces, the cafe, nursery, etc., meant a new opportunity for the emerging activities of the Local Community.

NVD House / Studio Arthur Casas

January 12, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

Placed in a land with a native forest surrounding it, the NVD house was designed in order to attend the wishes of a couple with three children: having a weekend residence for relaxing and leisure moments to the family. Located in the interior of São Paulo, the project consists on a dynamic mix of volumes, creating great spans and cantilevers. It is in these different volumes that the whole house’s program is distributed, taking advantage of the maximum integration between the ambiances and of the amplitude of the spaces. The lower volume, lined with rustic granite and wall texture, accommodates the service, the sauna, and the spa areas.

Hemingway Martini Apartment / Ciclostile Architettura + Edoardo Morelli

January 11, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

The project involves the global renovation of an apartment located on the first hill of Bologna for a young couple with a child. The people who live in this place and their passions were the first sources of inspiration for the design of the spaces, designed to meet their functional needs and enhance the artworks that distinguish and characterize the various room. The planimetric configuration is particularly irregular, therefore we have tried to exploit these irregularities to obtain all the service areas and bathrooms, leaving a cleaner design in the main rooms.

The Outdoor Classroom / Studio Infinity

January 10, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

Client Brief. The client came to us with a requirement to design a pre-primary school for about 80-100 students on a site, which was part of a commercial building abutting a large residential colony. The client (already having two operational schools) gave us a very clear brief for this new addition. She wanted a school that will stand out from the other preprimary schools in the vicinity so that the number of admissions increases. Maximum utilization of the space available across 3 floors and having a child-friendly premise was her prime requirement.

The Club Stand / Bates Smart

January 9, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

The brief from the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) for the new Club Stand at Flemington Racecourse was to create a symbolic building that would not only celebrate the incredibly rich heritage of the club but exemplify the future and change the race day experience forever. The team responded with the resolve to create a strong and memorable building—one which would become an indelible part of Flemington’s future. The intention was to not only reinvent the very nature of the grandstand, but also the types of hospitality venues on offer for members.
