The school is situated at the periphery of the new neighborhood, at the edge between nature and the city, which consequently implies special attention given to the landscape. The project aims therefore to offer to the neighborhood children a school of particular architectural and environmental quality, comfortable and responds to the challenges and constraints of the site.
The neighborhood. The plot, with an area of 11 135 m², is located the far north of the town of Coignières and on the border with the commune of Maurepas, on the other side of the street. The land is bordered by a commercial activity area, on the Coignières side, and by a suburban area and offices, on the Maurepas side.
Opposite the village church in the village center, on a rectangular plot lies the House Parlow. The elongated property slopes downward towards the east and, thanks to its location, allows a view over the roofs into the countryside.
Aware of the challenges linked to the construction of the new Omnisport hall (predominantly basketball) and the renovation and extension of the existing gym, our project aims to respond to the programmatic expectations and proposes quality spaces for sportsmen, be they amateur, professionals, scholars, or spectators.
To make the most of its modest budget, this small house uses inexpensive materials throughout but balances them with custom detailing and craftsmanship. Bespoke deep-set steel windows frame views out, while one window sill doubles up as a sink, draining water directly into the garden bed outside.
The renovation of the AG Campus is an ambitious and sustainable project in the center of Brussels. It introduces light, air, and space. Throughout the renovation, materials were chosen as sustainably as possible, and maximum effort was made to preserve and reuse materials from the existing building. The roof of the new extension was implemented entirely as a green roof and additional green spaces were added in the garden, adding in total more than 1500m2 of green spaces in the heart of Brussels.
Tongass Ledge sits gently perched over the Alaskan shore. Overlooking inlet waters and balanced at the edge of a rock wall, two volumes at a subtle angle capture the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. For a busy client who splits time between Seattle and Ketchikan, the complete design required a simple form and program, personalized through highly custom interiors. Standing at the edge of the vibrant Tongass Narrows, the Ledge is the perfect lookout for a nature lover.
Lot K3.1 selected for the construction of the Maison companions occupies a central position within the ZAC de la Haute Maison, near the school of Ponts et Chaussées, the school of architecture, the university library, and the student house.
At the foot of the Roof Park in Rotterdam housing project, The Hudsons has been realized. The development adds 5 building blocks with 118 single-family homes, 24 apartments, and 2 commercial spaces to the Bospolder-Tussendijken district. The early 20th-century district of Bospolder-Tussendijken has been undergoing restructuring for decades. The more recent plans aim to integrate more mid and high-income groups into a district with a culturally highly diverse population. The Hudsons contributes to this ambition with great care.
