CS Residence / Fpoles Arquitetos

A large canopy defines the house’s principal feature: it extends from the living area to the garage, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside in a single fluid motion. It is not merely a shelter; it is an invitation. Beneath it, the spaces merge and cease to compete with one another, simply coexisting.

Located in Portugal, this residence brings together formal clarity, functional efficiency, and landscape integration. The project is structured around a refined volumetric composition, with distinct bodies articulated in a coherent and harmonious manner. Its pure geometries, emphasised by large, glazed surfaces that establish a strong connection between interior and exterior, ensure generous natural light throughout all spaces.

Itaipava Farm / Lucas Jimeno Dualde

There are projects that begin long before the design. In Itaipava, in the Fluminense mountains, an old stable from the São João de Icaraí Farm stood as the last vestige of a rural past: an isolated, silent volume, surrounded by vegetation. When we were invited to intervene in the property, the central question was not just to renovate a building that is almost 80 years old, but to understand how to transform this agricultural space into a contemporary country house, without erasing the geography and identity of the place.

Cunha House / Roberto Brotero Arquitetura

April 14, 2026 Susanna Moreira 0

Located in the rural area of Cunha, at the top of the Serra do Mar, this residence occupies a privileged position on top of a hill, with wide and unobstructed views in all directions. The design stems from the desire to enhance the continuous horizon of the landscape, creating a constant relationship between the built space and the horizon.

Implanted on a corner lot between two streets in the western part of São Paulo, the Pascoal Vita Building stands out for its striking geometry, softened by the gardens that surround the entire construction and establish a continuity with the surrounding landscape.

Princess Farm / António Costa Lima Arquitectos

The house was built in the early decades of the 19th century, when the myth of Sintra was also being born with the flourishing of various noble and upper-bourgeois houses along the recently populated slopes of woodlands and walled pathways. It was a transformation that made Sintra the capital of Romanticism.

CB’s Apartment / Julia Peres.Co Arquitetura

CB Apartment is an exercise in spatial reorganization that transforms construction pathologies into opportunities for conscious design. The intervention investigates the relationship between matter, light, and shadow through the selection of materials and elements—metalwork as planes of interruption and visual continuity; terrazzo as a surface of contrast and continuity between interior and exterior; fabrics, bricks, and glass as mediators of integration with the built environment—through which spatial perception shifts during the day.

Arquivo: Deconstruction and Material Reuse for a Circular Architecture

April 9, 2026 Susanna Moreira 0

The construction industry today faces an unavoidable paradox: the urgent need for sustainable solutions for the future of cities collides with the exhaustion of the term “sustainability” itself, often reduced to a hollow commercial label. In this scenario, Arquivo – one of the winners of ArchDaily’s 2025 Next Practices Award – emerges as a facilitator and mediator between different stakeholders in the construction field through disassembly – or rather, de-construction – and the reuse of building elements. Etymologically, if “construction” derives from the Latin construere (to heap up, assemble), the prefix “de-” imposes a conceptual inversion: it is not about destroying, but about disassembling with intelligence to understand the logic of the parts.

Philo Science Center at Institut Le Rosey / Bernard Tschumi Architects

April 9, 2026 Susanna Moreira 0

Bernard Tschumi Architects is pleased to announce the completion of Philo, a new building for student innovation at Institut Le Rosey, an international boarding school near Geneva, Switzerland. A key feature of the new building is its dynamic circulation concept. Vertical and horizontal pathways generate movement and intersect the central atrium, which acts like a covered public square. The atrium is surrounded by three concentric walkways. The first walkway runs directly along the four levels of the atrium; the middle one distributes the various classrooms, while the outer walkway acts as a continuous balcony, providing an extension to the classrooms in good weather.

Lakeside Farms Coqueiros Beach / Estúdio Vinicius Macêdo + Novais Arquitetura

April 7, 2026 Susanna Moreira 0

The Quintas do Lago Praia dos Coqueiros project arises from the relationship between architecture, nature, and urbanism. The initial challenge was to create a club that valued the view of the lagoon without obstructing that landscape with the building. The solution was an architectural design in two levels. On the upper level, a linear plaza with a lookout extends from the sidewalk, guiding users towards the lagoon. On the lower level, the communal spaces — gourmet deck, party room, game room, gym, playroom, pantry, and restrooms — connect to a large organic infinity pool.
