Dongqi Architects transformed and enlarged an old café into a new space with coffee, craft beer, food and bakery in the downtown of Changzhou.

This project is intended for a single-storey apartment in the new building. In the construction planning, the builder had limited most of the interior pattern, making it impossible to change too much. For this, we set a goal. We hoped to grant this common project a subject, to show the unique lifestyle of the client.

The project is located in an old historical district in Shanghai within more than 70 years. It has be the sole living space for three generations. Now it will be served as a brand new apartment for the youngest couple. With the limitation of 35sqm, the squeezed space should be sufficient for all three generations.

Linehouse was commissioned to design the second store for streetwear retailer ALL SH, to create a completely different identity from the first store. The 20 sqm store is located in a design community with a large shop frontage.

In this Japanese bistro which is mainly based on rice, it has three concepts as centripetal, oriental and particulate. First, utilizing the sufficient height of the space, we set the entrance as high and the back as low. Then this perspective makes the centripetal space which attract people into the space.

The new bookstore is divided into four main zones and several subdivided zones. Aiming to create a colorful new world by using symbolism, the architect gave a unique character to each zone: The Sanctuary of Crystal for new arrivals; The Cave of Fireflies for recommendations; The Xanadu of Rainbows for reading room; The Castle of Innocence for children books.

100architects was commissioned by Club Med to design their new office space in Shanghai. This project was in collaboration with the product designer Diego Fuertes.
