The House / Atelier is a residential / workplace project commissioned by a couple of Designers who elected Porto as the place to raise their family. oitoo found an extremely promising plot with a generous backyard and the rather odd remnants of a building renovation gone awry.
The dream of preserving what was first, and what it now, as an act of respect and good augury towards and with Mother Nature by Pablo, its owner, is the background that initiates the assignment. A few kilometers from the central village in the “El Calvario” community, Pastaza province – Ecuador, the family decides to embark on a project capable of offering a recreational experience intended as a place for rest, relaxation, and direct connection with an Amazonian natural environment.
Between November 2022 and May 2024, the Fondation Maeght conducted significant building works for the first time since its opening. Respecting the original building by Josep Lluís Sert, four new rooms will be inaugurated in June 2024 for the foundation’s 60th anniversary. These rooms embody a new era for the Fondation Maeght. Inspired by large American foundations, the visionary couple Marguerite and Aimé Maeght – printers and gallery owners for some of the most important artists of the 20th century – imagined the first foundation dedicated to modern and contemporary art in France. Inaugurated in 1964 by André Malraux, this place was designed by architect Josep Lluís Sert for and with the artists. Ahead of its time, Sert already took into account ecology (impluviums to collect rainwater, the orientation of the building) and dialogue in perfect harmony with the landscape and the works specially created by Georges Braque, Joan Miró, Pierre Tal Coat, Marc Chagall, Pol Bury, Diego Giacometti, or Raoul Ubac.
This is a rehabilitation work on what was once a barn, located on a family farm, in a small valley in the region of Algarve known as barrocal, in the southern coast of Portugal. An area of orange groves and smooth releave which follows the course of the Arade river, between the heights of the Monchique mountain range, and the flat, low-lying areas of the coast.
A “tower” with nine stories and a “summer house” was built.
It’s one home made up of two buildings.
The “tower” fills the role of the “home’s functionality” and the “summer house” provides the “home’s space”.

Interior design studio STUDIO SHOO has completed the design of the flagship concept store Estil.io, located on Northern Avenue in the heart of Yerevan. Opened on 1 September, the 144sqm retail space offers a refreshing take on décor stores blending artistry, functionality, and a modern interpretation of natural elements.
The project is located in one of the oldest streets in the Aveiro city, where the architectural richness of the old facades is a hallmark of the city. The project is based on the demolition of a degraded building and the construction of a multifamily housing and commercial building. As such, given the context of the place, one of the premises of the project is to maintain and rehabilitate the facade of the existing building, requalifying it and thus preserving its historical and architectural value in the arrangement of Dr. Lourenço Peixinho Avenue.
