The new Headquarters for Cisneros Group, a third-generation global media company, was re-imagined as one integrated, creative, and collaborative studio. The space houses the company’s two subsidiaries (Interactive and Real Estate) as well as the Cisneros Foundation and is located on the top floors of the new 2 Miami Central facility, a mixed-use transit hub anchored by the new Virgin Train system. Working closely with the CEO, Adriana Cisneros, the office was designed to be flexible and emphasize wellbeing. These strategies mirror the ambitions of the firm in their nimble business approach. Workplace initiatives include shifting from 100% private office to a 20/80 open plan as well as maximizing both collaboration areas and focused work areas with a 1:12 quiet room ratio.

N House / A3 LUPPI UGALDE WINTER

This house was born with the aim of being a place to be outdoors. The fundamental characteristic of the neighborhood was its flood condition, being part of the Paraná river delta, this meant the need to raise it. With these conditions and being a land bounded in dimensions, the challenge was to have the largest amount of space on the ground floor for social areas. The existence of a waterway in the background generated the premise of guiding the main visuals in that regard.

It always takes time to make something great, but what surprised T2.a architects about its Jazz Loft project was how a forced break unexpectedly managed to lead to a more refined and rewarding building in the long run. Renovated from an abandoned 19th Century mill, architects Bence and Gabor Turanyi were first tasked with the delicate refurbishment work back in 2005.

The gently sloping plot is located near the sea and bordered to the north by the street. The surrounding buildings represent the architecture of single-family houses of different eras. The challenge was to solve two detached houses in place of one demolished house so that the buildings would naturally sit on the plot, providing both houses with privacy and the best views. At the same time, comfortable outdoor areas should be created. Old stone fences, rocks, and pines gave the site a temporal perspective. The commissioners gave free rein to the architecture but wished for a beautiful and durable whole.

The House in Mishref / Studio Toggle

January 25, 2020 Daniel Tapia 0

The house in Mishref is home to two brothers and their families with their varying lifestyles and needs for privacy and open spaces. An introverted composition of two separate living units grouped around an internal courtyard, the house is an interpretation of the traditional courtyard house. Presenting a clean and serene façade to the street, the resulting massing manifests as a white monolithic volume poised elegantly on top of a stone cladded podium. The rhythmic arrangement of louvered windows across the façade softens the volume by lending it a sense of lightness.

Triptych House is a Grade II Listed dwelling in Winchester, Hampshire. The property is one of a row of terraced dwellings that are annexed to a large 18th Century manor house. The property has a modest and unassuming appearance from the roadside. Prior to the renovation and extension, much of the interior of the property felt like a typical home. At the rear, there was a single-story conservatory-style extension housing the dining and kitchen spaces. This acted as an intermediary space between the main house and another two-story building in the garden, which was once an old billiards room.
