A “container” that changes as you design and live in it, and design it, on top of the challenge of living in such a house must continue to give you the pleasure of living there. Clothes, kitchen goods and other things related to their hobbies can be freely placed, and their living space can be filled with things that promote enjoyment and happiness in their lives.

The region of Karst was once covered with Oak trees that Venetians have extensively used for building up the City on water. They have left the wind to peel off earth revealing limestone grounds. The initial idea is to provide a closer architecture, almost family, in the composition of spaces as well as in the treatment of light and texture that provides the ceramic skin. The materiality of this building is linked from the beginning to the argument of the project process. Ground floor is projected as a threshold space compressed by the building itself in its upper floors. We can say that the building’s project is the ceramic enclosure of their classrooms that hangs over the city map. This basic approach results from the structural solution adopted by this project based on the study of the section: a roof truss, containing the two upper floors of classrooms and departments, supported by two lines of brackets, saving a long distance, under which common areas are developed in continuity with the outside landscaped terraces and protected by a powerful cantilever.

Carpa Olivera / Colectivo Urbano

July 9, 2019 Cristian Aguilar 0

Originally built on 1915 and inspired by sea pools in Lisbon, the Carpa Olivera was a social center on Olas Altas beach in the Historic Center of Mazatlan. Many famous people of that time gathered and socialized here, and it was a must for every tourist. In 1954 it was devastated by a hurricane, leaving it in abandonment, but with time people came to use the pool. In the year 2004 it had a remodeling that soon fell into neglect and vandalism.
